About Lauren J Ritchie
With a nod to a stylish historical influence Lauren J Ritchie creates quality one off pieces for race days, special occasion, day wear and theatre. Custom made pieces are available via consultation or visit Lauren’s website to view the full range.
From 2011 until 2017, she worked for well-respected Melbourne Milliner Louise Macdonald. Lauren teaches classes from Louise’s studio in the Nicholas Building.
In 2018, she spent time in London working for Jane Taylor London and Edwina Ibbotson Millinery. During this time she took up the position of editor and content creator for The Hat Magazine and Hatlines. As head of content for Millinery.Info Lauren produces the monthly podcast series.
She has created pieces for competitions around the world including MIMC, Parkins Fabric, Hatalk, MAA Design Award and has been invited to take part in the Flemington Oaks Day Millinery Award.
She made the iconic school girl hats for Foxtel’s Picnic at Hanging Rock and cloches for the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on the ABC, pieces for The Production Company’s performance of Funny Girl, The Color Purple by Stage Art, Around the World in 80 Days by Ellis Productions and Il Signor Bruschino by Lyric Opera.
Lauren J Ritchie became member of the Millinery Association of Australia in 2014, was elected to be a member of the committee and then Secretary for the Association in 2016 and again in 2017. In 2021 and 2022 Lauren was President of the Millinery Association of Australia.
