Fiona Cooper

Melbourne-based milliner Fiona Cooper, founder of Millinery Laa Laa (established in 2010), is known for her refined craftsmanship and sculptural approach to headwear. With a background in graphic design, she brings a strong sense of composition and design to her work. She combines luxurious, innovative materials with timeless silhouettes, emphasising wearability and contemporary elegance.

Fiona studied millinery at Kangan Institute, where she developed the technical skills and craftsmanship that underpin her distinctive design approach.

In 2025, Fiona was awarded the prestigious Lillian Frank AM MBE Millinery Award, recognising excellence and innovation within the Australian millinery industry. In 2026, she was selected for the Royal Ascot Millinery Collective, presented during London Fashion Week, representing Australian millinery on an international stage.

Alongside her creative practice, Fiona is committed to supporting and advancing the craft. She served on the Millinery Australia committee as Secretary from 2020 to 2022 and was appointed President in 2023, contributing to the growth, visibility and continued development of millinery in Australia.
