About the event
Hat enthusiasts and fashionistas alike will explore the art of millinery with MAArvelous Millinery 2015 on Thursday, 17 September at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
Hosted by The Millinery Association of Australia (MAA), the Spring Racing-themed soirée will enable milliners from all over Australia to unveil their Spring collections to the discerning public.
“MAArvelous Millinery is a fantastic environment for our members to showcase their latest ranges of hats, fascinators and headpieces. Milliners and guests can mingle over a glass of bubbles and celebrate the Spring designs.” said MAA President, Phillip Rhodes.
While sipping Champagne and enjoying canapés, guests will watch a parade exhibiting the latest collections before MMA members host individual pop-up stores allowing guests to browse through an array of designs, make purchases or put in orders for custom-made creations.
As the lead up to the Spring Racing Carnival begin, MAArvelous Millinery will provide guests with key insights and access to the latest millinery trends and styles to ensure they are well-prepared for the season ahead.
Door prizes will be on offer throughout the evening and guests will be encouraged to flaunt their Spring Racing style to be in the running to win a $350 millinery voucher.
For the professionals, the inaugural MAArvelous Milliner’s Design Competition will recognise the workmanship, design and aesthetics of a creation by an MAA member. Judged by a panel including Phillip Rhodes, the award will be presented on the evening to a deserving milliner.
